Stress, some say it's good for you, some say it's bad for you! Well, it can be both, so what is it? Stress can be thought of as the demand for your resources outweighing the resources you have. Resources such as energy, time, the ability to concentrate, think and problem-solve when at school, university or work. Money is a common stressor for many people, particularly young people starting out and following Covid-19 and the impact of the war in Ukraine, finances are getting very tight. This often feels uncomfortable and can quickly feel overwhelming and lead to anxiety and/or depression; particularly when it goes on for too long.
Stress is a normal part of the human experience and in the right amount closely related to motivation. You wouldn't feel much motivation without feeling any stress. Most people have felt that last-minute stress motivating them to get the task done.
